Workshops are half education and half yoga. We begin with a “mini med school,” which is a TED talk to explain the science behind yoga. Then we take it to the mat, and you will put those principles into action. For example, I’ll show you a scientific study about using yoga to treat back pain, and then we will learn a spine-focused yoga sequence that you can do on your own at home. You’ll understand WHY each part of the practice is helping your body heal. You’ll learn which movements offer the most potent benefit. You’ll develop a set of tools that you can reach for when back pain flares up.
It was fascinating to hear about the studies being done that link yoga with better overall health and especially the positive effects it can have on autoimmunity. I am so happy I was able to participate in the workshop.
